    paulamejiat : I followed the attack phase correctly and I didn't loose any weight. Now I have been in the cruise phase for 3 days and I have gained an extra kilo. What can I do? I am following instructions very strictly and I am exercising.
    Moderatrice jemma : Dear Paulamejiat, Do you suffer from constipation? This could be the reason for your regained of weight. Increase your oatbran to 3 tbsp/day, drink 2L of icy water per day, you can also take 200g of stewed rhubarb and goji berries to help you. If it persists ask your GP for a mild laxative.     goal2012 : Dear Dr Dukan, even though I try to follow your diet strictly and eat relatively small portions, stick to protein, I tend to really stole in my weight loss. More over I work out a lot in the gym, but still I find it extremely hard to shift these last 3-5 kg... Do you have any advice? I currently weigh between 57-58, my true weight according to your test is 55.7 Kg, but my idea weight is 53 kg. Thank you in advance.
    Moderatrice sevie : Welcome to the chat goal2012! Know that in this diet, the more you eat, the more you loose. You ought to eat until you are satisfied and therefore should never go hungry. Your weightloss is going at a good pace; follow the rule of the cruise phase and the weight will fall off on its own, just be sure to eat. We highly disrecommend you going underneath your true weight because this will be an ongoing effort for you to maintain it whereas once you reach your true weight, you will eventually be able to get off the diet and easily keep that weight off.     fruewald : When I started you suggested that my true weight was 60,1 kg, but I wanted to stop at 61 kg. I have now realized that I want to go on to 60 kg. How do I change the numbers on my programme?
    Moderatrice jemma : Hi Fruewald, it is not possible to modify your program to reach the weight of 60kg but I advise you first to reach your true weight and you will have then the possibility to lose another extra kilo. Have a nice day!
    LJStimpson : I am in the second week of cruise and after losing 6lbs in the attack phase and 2 in the first week of cruise I have had high hopes. This morning I had put on a pound despite pushing myself really hard at the gym this week and having no lapses. I have been saving some of my oatbran for the evenings so I can have a pancake (I love them) - do you think I should avoid doing this? I am also thirsty all of the time, no matter how much I drink (and I don't add salt to any food). Is this normal?
    Moderatrice sevie : Hi LJStimpson! and welcome to the chat! First of all, I would like to congratulate you on your weightloss. I think that you may be a bit constipated which will cause your weight to slow down and even cause you to gain weight when not taken care of. Let me know if this is the case or not so that we can quickly diagnose the issue and get your weightloss going again. We would really want you to drink no more than 2l of liquids per day but if you are really thirsty then you can drink more. The fact that you are thirsty all the time is actually normal and it will soon come to pass. Have a great weekend!

    fatmasharif : I have been stuck in my weight between 80 and 97.5 KG for a long time. I do not know what to do. Is it normal in the cruise phase? What should I do?
    Moderatrice jemma : Hi Fatmasharif! It is normal during the cruise phase to stagnate, don't you suffer from water retention? Lapses are not helpful are not helping. You must persevere until you reach your true weight, don't forget also to increase your physical activity while following religiously the diet. Have a nice weekend!

    JuliaCerise : Hi, when I signed in I was weighing 10 stones 8 lbs but on the start day of my diet I had increased to 10'10. The weight curve and instructions seems to ignore this fact when I fill in my daily report. I am now weighing 10'9.4. I have added this to the daily report but see no change again.

    Moderatrice bettina : Dear gautamibalu1,thank you for your question.We do have vegetarians who are following this diet, and have had fantastic results as well. As a vegetarian you are allowed 0-2% fat dairy products and eggs, which is a solid base to start with. If you do not eat meat, poultry or fish, you can substitute these with "vegetable proteins": firm or silken Tofu, Seitan and Tempeh as well as Quorn and TSP (Textured Soya Protein). Together these take care of the Pure Protein (PP) part. And when moving on to Cruise Phase Proteins + Vegetables (PV days), all you need do is stick to this base and add vegetables to it. I also suggest you to increase your consumption of oat bran to 4 tablespoons per day, and take two tablespoons of lentils per day on a PP day, but when on a PV those can be eaten as much as you want. You can exclude food items from your menu suggestions by ticking them off on the excluded foods -list which you can access from the daily report area. We do our best to exclude those items from your menu suggestions, but some of them might still appear. Most important to notice is that these menu suggestions are purely suggestions, not compulsory at all. You can mix & match them to your liking, swap incredients or you can create completely own menus from the allowed foods of each phase. There are also hundreds of delicious recipes available in your Slimming Apartment's Recipe Book, that can also be filtered for PP / PV days, and for vegetables only. As there is no 'vegetarian version of the Dukan Diet' available yet online, these instructions remain here in your Slimming Apartment's email section as your reference for the rest of the diet.Have a great weekend.

    Hotch50 : I have been making the Dukan bread as advised beause it is one of the foods I miss. Please advise how much of this I am allowed on a daily basis, the recipe says for one person is this for one meal or one day and can it be eaten on both PP and PV days? Many thanks
    Moderatrice sevie : Hello Hotch50! Since the recipe is for one person you can eat the whole thing that day. Be sure to carefully read the ingredients however; should this contain 6tbs of oatbran for example, you can only eat so much of it in order not to go over your oatbran allowance for that day, neither can you eat anything else containing oatbran.     morell : Hello, got back from holidays to Cairns in Aussie. Had a great time managed to eat a variety to things but missed having oatbran. My weight remain the same did do protein thurs. I am enjoying stablisation very much and doing 20 mins of walk everyday. I want to thank you very much for your help throw out my diet. I think 59.5kilos might be what im stablise at because iam eating normally with the odd treat included. Talk to you next time

    Moderatrice jemma : Hi Lululinton! You can see the vegetables list that are allowed in the fridge of your slimming apartment but you only have to be carefull with carrots and beetroots. You are of course, allowed to eat salad on PV day without any problem! Have a nice weekend!

I think you are feeling bloated because you may be constipated; let me know if this is the case. If you are feeling hungry do not hesitate to snack on crab sticks or lean ham,or other allowed foods.     Moderatrice bettina : Dear Charleybe, that is a very good question. Try to grill your bacon instead of frying it. Why don't you try Be Good To Yourself Sainsbury's Smoked Bacon Medallions? They already have all the fat removed. You can have Bacon hot or cold. Why don't you try your Oat bran pancake with Bacon for a heatlhy satisfying breakfast? Have a great weekend!
    nilooshoushani : Here are the nutrition facts for the powdered coffee creamer in which I wanted to know if allowed or not: 1 tsp - 10 calories, 0.5g fat, 0 sodium, 1g carb, 0 sugar. However, it does have corn syrup solids and vegetable oil in the ingredients section. I used to have about 4 tsp of this per day with coffee. I was just wondering if I'm allowed to have this on the Dukan Diet.

    Moderatrice bettina : Dear Soubhic1, we are very well thank you. I personally really like the Dukan microwave bread-it's very easy to make. Mix 1 egg, 2tbsp of oat bran, 1-2tbsp of fat free yogurt and 1 teaspoon of yeast in a container and cover it up. Microwave for about 2 minutes or longer if required. You can also add some aroma and sweetner if you like - enjoy. Have a great weekend.

    asabea77 : I find it very difficult to get my meals as you send them midnight and very difficult to get some of the ingredients to prepare the meals. All I have been doing is eat protein as I am in my attack phase. I am doing the right thing. I have lost 4.5lb so far on my 4th day of attack phase. Please advise me. I am also constipated. Thanks
    Moderatrice sevie : Hi Asabea77 and welcome. Looking at your weight curve, it seems as though you are doing great so keep going you have just 2 more days of attack left! I understand that the menus can be complicated and take time to make. Try choosing amongst the menus that take less than 10min to prepare. Also, keep in mind that the menus are merely suggestions, giving you an indea of what you ought to eat on a daily basis. You can also mix and match the different suggestions to your liking. I also advise you to take a look at your online recipe book, where you can find plenty of recipe that take no time at all to make. Have a great weekend!
    susandannatt : Hi I have instructions to start the consolidation phase but my weight was only at the goal weight for 1day . The next day my weight had increased by 1lb . I would be happier for my weight to stay stable for a few days before I change to the next phase . Shall I remain doing the cruise phase untill this happens ? I am conserved that I have not reached my true weight and if I stop the cruise phase then I will not reach my true weight .

    Stopples : Hi, I have been doing well on the dukan although did get low during the week. I am away for a few days next week and will not be able to follow the diet as well as I have been when at home. I will be able to take plenty of exercise though, is it common for weight to come back on easily if you are not able to access those things that are required for the diet. Thanks

    nannette : I have opted to stay on the cruise diet till I reach my true weight. I have 12lbs still to go. Can I change my mind at any stage and go on to consolidation? It gives me an option if I find it too difficult to complete as the last few pounds are the hardest to loose.

    likuliku : Hi there, I am currently in the cruise phase and tend to put on a 100-200g each day im on pp, and lose 100-200 on the PV days? Why is this? I thought it was supposed to be the other way around, or at least lose on the PP days and stay unchanged on the PV days? Its very disheartening and now there is no real loss?
    Moderatrice sevie : Welcome to the chat likuliku! you are right, it is usually the other way around. That being said, I really think you may be retaining water. Try not to drink more than 1.5l of liquids per day and avoid salty foods like ham, smocked food such as smocked fish, smocked meat, bresaola, etc. You can also go to your local pharmacist so that he can help you choose the most appropriate drainer.     bigaudry : I had informed you that I travel a lot and eat out but so far the advise that I have received has all required cooking. How am I suppose to do that?
    Moderatrice sevie : Hello bigaudry! If you do not have the time to cook since you are traveling, go for quick proteins such as ham you can keep with you, or crab sticks, or even gallettes. When you go out to eat keep up with Dukan rules and do not hesitate to make special requests if need be. Check in with us as much as you can so we can help you if you run across any possible issues.     rachelmorrison : Yesterday I had a slice of toast with butter, the craving was so bad but this morning I feel 'unwell' so that means to me that this has unbalanced my body. I have a drive that i want to get to my goal weight and hopefully sooner than anticipated. Is that bad? I am a little frustrated with the time it is taking what can I do to get over this mental block?
    Moderatrice sevie : Hi Rachelmorrison! I'm sorry to hear you had this lapse but do not let it block you mentally. Whenever you have cravings like this, try the fragrance box: Get an air-tight metal, glass or plastic box. Put in there 6 decet sized cloves, 6 coffee beans crushed into big bits, a stick of crushed vanilla, a pinch of cinnamon and 2 drops of rum. Then allow a day for the different substances to be absorbed into each other and produce a synthesis. Each time you feel an urge to lapse, open up your box and smell the fragrance that escapes from it. Inhale several times, get your fill of these smells and let temptation drift away. Simply by eliminating your lapses Rachel, your weigtloss will greatly increase and if you work hard enough, there is a possibility you could reach your true weight before the calculated time we have for you; this has happened in past.     rachelmorrison : Sorry I forgot, I have been quite dizzy of late and not feeling 'well' my doctor has said that as I used to eat one egg a week and now I have been having one nearly every day I have overdosed and must cut back as I am making myself intollerant to them. Also, I know I am alergic to shellfish what can i substitute for shellfish? Thank you
    Moderatrice sevie : Hello Rachelmorrison! I would advise you to go ahead and cut back on the eggs as you are not at all obligated to have them. If you cannot have shellfish, try the other allowed foods like meat such as chicken for example or even tofu and quorn perhaps. Have a great day!
    Ransoml : I have been deligiently following the diet and have not cheated at all. No wine. No bread. No carbs. No fruit. But the weight loss appears to be very slow and very up and down. I havent lost any weight for about 10 days which seems very strange. I understand it may be because I havent done any exercise for a week but I would have thought that I would have still seen a steady decline in weight. Please advise
    Moderatrice sevie : Welcome to the chat Ransoml! Exercise does help your weightloss and so I strongly advise you to do this on a daily basis. Your weightloss may have stopped due to constipation which can dramatically slow your weightloss and even cause you to gain weight.     ntpab1002 : I'm confused. Why are not threw off the weight? Only 400 gr during Attack. Did not seem to violate the instructions, at least min sport activities performed. The only thing I lapsed on 25.01. Quark (0% fat) with the cherries and 3 slices of cheese 10%. What the reason of such low weight loss could be?

    lastdiethopeful : hello . I am doing well, but my minor transgressions are eating out, asking for fish cooked without any oils or fats, and when it comes, it has a little on it. I try to wipe off what I can. Also I live in a hot country. Would temperatures of 35 degrees have any detriment to the diet? When you say drink 1.5 litres of water, does this mean only water or can it include tea and coffee etc?
