High protein diet plan
You’ve probably heard of losing weight via various high protein diet plans. Very often it sounds too good to be true. You can literally eat as much protein as you like, including the ever popular giant cuts of steak, and still lose weight very quickly. No counting, no vegetable-only programs: just have plenty of meat.
Lots of protein helps with weight loss
The truth is that eating a high protein diet could in fact help you lose weight (no diet program that doesn’t work will stay around for very long). There are a number of valid reasons why a high protein diet plan works, including the fact that proteins make you feel fuller, so you eat less. Additionally, proteins require more energy to digest, so you burn more calories when you digest proteins such as red meat than you do when you process other foods.
So feeling fuller and burning more calories will obviously help you to lose weight, but a high protein diet plan on its own won’t lead to sustained weight loss. You need a second component that is found in low carb diet plans: a reduction in carbohydrate intake. The mechanics of a low carb diet plan are complicated but, as many low carb diet plans have shown previously, do work.
Low on carbs, up on proteins plus more
However, a low carb diet plan on its own is not thorough enough to reduce weight permanently. The better way of going about it is to have a high protein, low carb diet plan, combining the best of both worlds for a complete diet plan that really helps you to lose weight quickly and permanently.
Pierre Dukan realised this through years of pioneering work, as he tried to find the ideal diet plan that will help people lose weight in the long run. The Dukan Diet starts off with a high protein diet phase and then enters a low carb phase, both of which are essential in losing weight. However, the Dukan Diet does not stop there. It also includes further phases to consolidate weight loss. This makes the Dukan Diet the most comprehensive dietary program on the market.
