claudiazm : Hi, I am following the diet really good I am constipated and not loosing weight but gaining, what can I do?
jemma : Hi Claudiazm! Your constipation must be the reason of your non weight loss. Increase your oat bran intake to three table spoons per day and have also some wheat bran. Do drink almost frozen water preferably in the morning and do some abdominals by series of 10. You can also have 200 grammes of stewed rhubarb or some goji berries: one table spoon on your PP days and two on your PV days. Do eat plenty of green vegetables on your PV days (spinaches, salad...) and you can also have one tea spoon of linseeds per day (avoid these in case of stagnation). If and only IF this is not sufficient enough ask your GP for a mild laxative and in any case please let us know how you feel in a couple of days. Have a good day!
susandannatt : Hi I have been recommended noodles called zero noodle they contain oer 100g,0g fat,0g protien, 4g fibre and 4g carbohydrate and 0g sugar. Is this something I can eat freely while on the consolidation phase ?
sevie : Hello susandannatt, You can have this as your 220g of starches per week and throughout your celebration meal.
rjaber : on my first day of the attack phase i was given obliged activities including stand ups, abdominal, walking, and squats. But what is the supplementary program?please elaborate.Another thing, is it ok if i am not able to eat all the 3 meals?for example today i was able to eat the breakfast & lunch but couldn't have the diner, i was full, would that be ok?
bettina : Dear rjaber, thank you for your question. The supplementary program can found by scrolling down the screen under Facultative activities. We don't recommend skipping meals as it can lead to over eating next time. So please try to have 3 meals per day and don't let yourself go hungry. Have a nice weekend.
SSayed : I am currently in the cruise phase and would like to clarify whether on a PP day I can still cook with tomatoes. I am Asian and miss Pakistani cuisine. Thank you.
jemma : Hi SSayed! During PP days, tomatoes as vegetables are not allowed but you can use tomato paste as seasoning. Have a nice day!

sevie : Welcome Rosero! That depends you have to make sure they contain no added sugar, no fructose, no syrup, nor dextrose, and up to 1 calorie per 250ml. have a great day!
anteoni : Hello, I've just started the diet and I already think about what will happen when I will go on holiday. I will be away for 10 days only 7 days after starting my consolidation phase and I'm pretty sure I won't be able to stick to the diet. Will I be able to go back to the weight I had before and how? bettina : Hello tianouli,to answer your questions. You can have as much diet coke as you want but we recommend not drinking more than 3 cans per day. As you're on the cruise phase you need to limit your amount of oat bran to 2tbsp per day. Please don't drink any alcohol as it will slow down your weight loss. Don't worry on the consolidation phase you'll be able to have some wine as part of your celebration meal - so hang in there. During PV days you're allowed to have any of the allowed vegetables listed in your slimming apartment. Have a nice weekend.

bettina : Hi toolmaker27, as you are on the consolidation phase you can have crackers with cheese as part of your celebration meal. Try to have low fat cheese though and really limit the amount of crackers you eat. Enjoy your holiday.
carinelouw : I don't know how to get my motivation back, My husband and myself love wine and we are very social people. I am also a chef and often have to cook for other people. I do not want to stay fat for the rest of my life, but I don't know how to get my motivation back after the festive season. I am unable to say no.
sevie : Welcome to the chat carinelouw! The festive season is now over; it is essential that you put down the glass of wine and put your boxing gloves back on, because the battle towards a new and improved you continues! I know the road to success is a very long one but it is worth it in the end. Whenever you feel like giving into temptation, go try on some clothes that were once too tight for you and then think of what it will be like when you reach your true weight; and your motivation ought to come back strong. morell : Hi had a good week. Ate a variety of foods back at work. When im having a celebration meal and it has potato's does that count as 1 of my starches for the week. Finding it hard sometimes to keep track of everything I eat does that matter? Am keeping to the three golden rules thou! Bye for now.
jemma : Hi Morell! Potatoes are starchy foods so yes it count for starches. But don't worry, on stabilization phase you are allowed to have starches everyday. Enjoy your weekend!

bettina : Dear painesi,that is a very good question. You are allowed to use 1 onion per day or a normal sized shallot for flavouring to improve the taste of your food. Have a nice day

bettina : Hi again tianouli, I believe I've answered your question earlier. To summarise : Yes you can have diet coke, please stick to 2tbsp oat bran per day and please don't drink any alcohol.
nicky : I atted the gym 5 dyas /week. I do at least an hours exercise very day - so I tick teh box on the re more than programme re exercise - is this okay?

Nestlebrook : My husband is doing this with me. He is having a hard time with nausea, headaches and feeling crummy. Today was our first cruise day and he felt better after eating a salad. Can you give me any words of advice for him? He really needs to lose weight.
jemma : Hi Nestlebrook! Is your husband a coached member? Without having information on him it is difficult to advise. Know that you are following the diet for a short time, if your husband started simultaneously with you it is normal to feel bad, it is ketosis which causes nausea and headaches. Drink 1.5L to 2L of fluid per day and everything will be fine! Have a nice weekend!
venice10 : I have not lost weight - but seem to be losinginches - do I persevere with PP/PV or do I need to switch back to attack phase?
sevie : Hi venice10! Yes, by all means keep alternating especially since you are doing a great job right now. For some reason the loss of inches and the loss on the scale are not synchronized at all, so keep going and you will eventually see the weightloss show up on the scale. Have a great day!

Bibabs20 : I have a confession, for 2 weeks now I have hardly completed my daily report, eaten what I felt like. My weight has gone up slightly. I know why, it was a backlash of lots of emotional stuff!! Too much to elaborate here. I am feeling back on track. Shall I just continue with cruise? or do something else?
sevie : Hi Bibabs20 and welcome to the chat! Yes, keep going. You may have a period of stagnation however, because lapses have the tendency to catch up on us. Increase your physical activity, and stay away from tolerated items for the next four days and you will see your weightloss momentum increase in no time. Have a wonderful weekend!
Discontent : I am getting no where on the chat page all my questions are missunderstoond I guess because I am English and whoever answers them thinks I do not understand the meaning of some words e.g. When I asked what was on the optional and compulsary exercise list I was told the optional means exercises you can do if you want. I asked in my last chat for the email address and was told she had not seen any questions from me on the email - because I do not have the email address!
jemma : Hi Discontent! I am really sorry for the lack of understanding. Indeed, The optional physical activities are to be done if you feel the desire and the need to do it. The obliged activities are to be done everyday to speed up your weight loss ;) We have not received any question from you your slimming apartment. saudjie : I have one of those cobalt hip replacements gone bad. When I Dukan 2 weeks ago I couldn't do any exercise. The pain was too much bith in joint and over all from the poisoning. Now I've lost 10 pounds and am feeling much better. But I know I will have bad days again. But at least the weight loss helps my joints. It's the easiest thing I've ever done in my life to lose this 10 pounds! I need to change my coaching information about being able to exercise. How do I do this? I have begun my usual lifelong routine of yoga, Pilates and walking. Today I am baking chocolate cupcakes (my favourite) for a breast cancer fund raiser. A true test of will power begins in a few minutes
bettina : Hi saudjie, yes losing weight will put less strain on your joints. I'm happy to hear you're feeling much better now. You'll soon get to your true weight. saudjie : I am now able to do some exercise. I have one of those bad cobalt metal on metal hip replacements (for 3 years). This causes so much pain from both the joint and in my whole body from the cobalt poison.Sometimes I can't do anything. But I'm better right now and starting again with my lifelong routine of yoga, Pilates and walking. I am doing what is appropriate for my condition. I've lost 10 pounds in 2 weeks and I feel much better with the extra weight gone. I'm very happy with this diet. It is SO easy. Thank you.

sevie : Welcome Austincharlie! Indeed you are very close to your true weight :) The pace of your weightloss is going well but you can increase it by eliminating your lapses. willow6169 : I have diabetes, had Polycystic ovary syndrome and had a full hysterectomy 9 years ago. My weight has been stable at around 118 to 120 for at least 10 years but I stagnate regularly with this diet. I don't want to lose motivation but I am really finding it hard to stay on track. What can I do to help?
jemma : Hi Willow6169! Do you feel constipated? Do you suffer from water retention? By answering these questions we will be able to advise you at our best! I can see few lapses on your weight curve, know that this won't help you to loose weight... Stay motivated, you will loose those kilos! Have a nice weekend!
Ronniex : I have been drinking a lot of soda water, will this hinder my weight loss? Shall I just drink normal still water instead?
bettina : Hi Ronniex, we recommend drinking mineral waters low in sodium such as Vittel, Evian, Buxton Highland Spring, Volvic and Perrier. Please avoid San Pellegrino and Badoit as they contain too much sodium. Try to limit your consumption of sparkling water as it can cause bloating, but it can enjoyed in moderation. dperratt : Hi there, I have been on the diet for 3 weeks now and am currently in the cruise phase. I have only lost 5lbs in total, I have strayed once with a piece of pizza, but that's all. I go to the gym 3 times per week and have had no alcohol for 4 weeks. I am a 55 year old female and I am finding this very frustrating. Is there anything else I can do?

bettina : Hi trentina92, you don't need to have the 2 celebration meals but why don't you have the jacket potatoes as part of your celebration meals? You can have potatoes as part of your 2 allowed starchy foods per week but the amount of potatoes you eat should be limited. Try to have couscous, whole wheat pasta, lentils and occasionally rice. So please try to limit the amount of jacket potatoes you eat. Have a lovely weekend

Although it is disappointing I am hoping with the weather changing and we are progressing towards spring things will change, it is frustrating. Your body is responding very well to the diet, you just have to eliminate your lapses and follow the guidelines of the cruise phase and you will see changes. bettina : Hi losbuhos, thank you for your question. Don't worry there is no time limit on reaching your true weight. Once you're down to your true weight you can move on to the consolidation phase, so you don't need to tell us in advance. jemma : Hi Tnyshrr! The metalic taste in your mouth is caused by ketosis and it is totally normal at this stage of the diet! I advise you to drink 1.5L to 2L of fluids per day and it will be very fine! Have a nice weekend!
