I’ve lost 24 pounds and I never ever want to put them back on!
My name is Annick, I'm 60, but in my head I'm 30 and especially since I've lost weight....
My Dukan story...
As a child, I was a rather chubby little girl, but not obese. During adolescence, I slimmed down a bit. Then I gradually started to put the pounds back on, after being pregnant, when I stopped smoking and at the menopause.
I have always had a particular relationship with food. I loved sweet things and I used to gorge myself, yes it was that, bingeing on cakes, chocolate or other sweet stuff. I knew I had to stop but I just couldn't. Quite simply I was bulimic.
I've done loads of diets, just like all of you, I've tried them all, I've lost countless pounds but I've put just as many back on again and always with some extra besides.
Then two years ago a friend of mine who had lost a stone and a half lent me Pierre Dukan's book and I immediately rushed out to buy my own copy.
What I liked straightaway was that you can eat some foods as much as you like. And as I am always snacking, this was the diet for me.
In one month I quickly lost 13 pounds, but as I didn't do the consolidation I gradually went back to my old habits and 9 pounds went back on. I then became granny to 2 twin boys who are now 18 months old; I wanted to remain young and lovely for them and also for my family.
Last April at the start of the month, I went onto the DUKAN diet web site and subscribed to the online coaching, as I had really made my mind up this time that once and for all I was going to lose this weight that had been getting me down for years and most of all, I said to myself that at my age, if I was going on a diet, it would be the last one: I knew that one day I would lose weight and that I would become the woman that I really was inside my head.
So since I started my coaching I've lost almost 20 pounds.
I am losing weight very slowly but I do have a thyroid problem, however I don't feel hungry and that is very important for keeping going.
Since shedding these 20 pounds, I feel lighter, more attractive and even younger and I know that I'll never put them back on again.
I can wear clothes that I didn't dare to previously, such as little short sweaters over trousers, whereas before I always used to wear long smock tops to cover up my over "generous" hips and bottom. I know that I haven't lost as much weight as some others but all the same I am still very proud of it.
I still have about 9 pounds to lose and I will achieve this. I sometimes give way to temptation, I'm not hiding the fact, but I know that I am going to keep off all these pounds I've lost. I feel too good and I get so many compliments from family and friends and I also really love my new figure.

- My favorite support Dukan food: Dukan galettes, sweet and savoury.
- My Dukan treat: All the Dukan recipes.
- My favourite form of exercise: Walking, walking and more walking.
- The nicest compliment I've been paid: a retired colleague who hadn't seen me for several months said " you look to me just like you did 20 years ago!" Hearing that gave me such a boost.
- What keeps me going: The chat sessions with Pierre Dukan who knows exactly how to get you back on track and the forum with all my Dukan girlfriends who are great at giving encouragement and advice.
- The advice I'd give to others "Dukanians": Even if your weight isn't budging, just hold on, it always comes off in the end, rewarding you for your efforts.
