My name is Vanessa, I'm 37 and I've just lost 2 stone and 12 pounds thanks to the Dukan diet method.

My Dukan story...

After my 4th pregnancy, when I put on 2 stone and 12 pounds, I didn't lose anything afterwards. I couldn't get rid of this extra weight and it even seemed as if I was putting more on.

A friend was singing the Dukan diet's praises, which I had never even heard about. She recommended that I go and buy the book, so that's what I did and I couldn't put it down!!

It gave me hope; but I still hadn't reached that moment of finally deciding to take the plunge. Researching into it a bit further on the internet, I came across the coaching web site and reading what the VIDs had written, I decided to subscribe to the site and start to seriously work at losing the 2 stone and 12 pounds.

The coaching was just right for me as I didn't feel up to going on this long journey on my own to get my figure back to normal. So I started on the programme on January 11th.

The advice I'd give to others "Dukanians":
Be tough with yourself, follow the rules as you'll be rewarded later on, even if at the outset you don't quite believe it. And you really should take part in the forum; it's much easier when we support each other as we are all going through the same thing

It was a bit hard at the start, especially at breakfast when I love my toast and butter ... But I have to say that I soon got used to the foods I was allowed, it's one of the easiest diets I have followed and I didn't feel hungry.

The daily monitoring helped me a lot because having to explain what is going on helps you refocus again if you feel like eating things you shouldn't.

I also got a lot out of the forum; with several of the people who started at the same time as me we have a mutual support network!! We've even developed really strong ties and feel the need to share our experiences every day.

The recipes are easy to make, you learn to cook differently whilst still enjoying excellent quality and taste!!

My slimming secret was keeping active!! I regularly did the recommended exercises and even some extra ones.

4 months later, I had reached my goal and lost my 2 stone and 12 pounds, I feel alive again and I am myself again. My family and friends have said lots of lovely things to me such as "goodness gracious me, you've lost so much weight!!"...
... And then, you feel so happy. And proud of yourself!
