Hi everyone!

I was just wondering, if you could modify something or want something improved on the website or your program, what would it be? I would like your honest opinion about this so do not be shy.

I hope to hear from you all soon!

I am an avid Forum user and since being on this one a couple of things have occurred to me.

1.  I would like to see at a glance where people are from - as in location.  For example on the details under the forum picture where it says Coached, Date Joined etc. you could have location.  This helps when people are answering questions as some items may not be available in different countries.  We could recommend something from Tescos, but if the person is in France then they may have to look in Auchan or Carrefour etc.

2.  Also some indication of threads I have posted on would be good.  I generally look at the Todays active posts and it would help if I could see which posts I had posted in rather than having to read them all again to check if there have been replies after mine.

Hope that helps.

Hi,

Thank you for asking!

I would really like it if the LATEST post could be listed on the first page, rather than having to scroll down to the bottom of the replies and clicking on 'page 7' (for example) and then having to scroll to the bottom again to be able to read the latest (most current) post or reply.... it would save so much time :)

I think while the advice from the 'team' is great, I really think in this day and age, then a more accurate translation should be possible? the advice can seem conflicting and things get lost in translation.

Similarly, the recipies can be confusing again, with some details missing and obviously, this can ruin a recipe.......

I would like to see the 'DAILY REPORT' altered.

Could there be a 'box' to write the 'actually activity' you have done? ie: 'other'.....It would be much more helpful if there were other 'tick boxes' to choose from with regards Frustrations and Motivation issues. For example, my motivation is low at the moment as I am REALLY stagnating despite following the diet to the letter. I'd like to choose 'low motivation due to slow weight loos' as a reason for my low motivation. Also, as a consequence of this I am also feeling Frustrated at not seeing any weight loss. there is no option currently to let 'the team' know this. (other than writing an email to the team) Similarly, could it be possible to have the ability to write exactly what the item was if we lapsed?? I know, its best not to lapse at all, but in the past, I have lapsed, not recorded it as what I lapsed with wasn't on the list.

I'm sure I could think of other suggestions, and might be back! but I have to dash for now......

thanks again,

Juliebulie x

Oh yes! (I told you I'd be back!! lol)

Would it be possible please to have an 'edit' function on the forum posts I have made.

For example, like my post above I have made a couple of spelling errors - it would be great if as I am the 'owner of the post' if I could click to 'edit post' so that I can correct the info?

Not just for mis-spelt words (I know I'm not entering an examination) but if I've entered wrong/missed info.... would be cool to just be able to 'edit post' rather than have the wrong one still listed AND then a corrected extra post below....

Merci ;)  x

1. We should be able to save the motivation tips and suggested menus on our computors, without printing them out, at the moment if you 'save', the tips and menus altur to the current day !

2. The menus are very badly balanced, I realise they are computor generated, but they could be arranged so that you don't get offered both a first course and a mains, which comprises raw fish !!!  I know they are only suggestions, but you are opening yourselves to ridicule and your clients, by association.

3. I would lay money on the fact that a lot of the recipes have never been prepared by human beings. !

Some are either incomplete or impossible.

4 I agree that the daily report could be a little more detailed in the information which we give, I personally think that the report is the best part of the program, ans yes I do realise I am reporting to a computor !!!!!

Would like to add my voice to the requests about altering the daily reports, I would really like to be able to express my frustrations better on the daily report as well, I do not get the frustrations listed but I do get frustrated about not loosing weight stagnating etc and some new recipes that actually work would be really good especially cake recipes other than muffins would be fantastic

Thanks

Hi, in addition to what's already been suggested, it would be really helpful if we could search threads by entering the author of the posts and/or keywords in the actual post as well as the title of the post. For instance if we type in 'cake', we get results for 'cake', 'cakes', 'pancake' etc).

I might come back with more ideas but keep up the good work!

Hi

Really just backing up the suggestions by others, particularly ;

- seeing the most recent post on a thread;

- being able to type an author name ,or even my own name, and find relevant threads;

- being able to nominate other activities eg. "cardio 60 mins" on the daily report;

- a reference library for common issues which arise , and the Dukan recommendations of how to deal with them eg."constipation", without requiring you to read back through reams of threads and posts .

- for fun : a body silhouette could be created, using comprehensive measurements , to show our body shape at the outset of this diet ,and then as our measurements are reduced so the the silhouette would represent the changes, keeping the original as a comparison. It would be a great visual incentive.

- the email contact hours should be 24 hours ,even if only to allow an email query to be sent . It is very frustrating to have o ensure logging on to send an email within particular hours. I cannot understand why this has to be .

I just want to say thank you so much for your answers, they are very helpful to us. All of your comments will be taken into consideration as we in the process of reviewing the contents of our website. That being said, I want you all to know that in the daily report you can only add so much because we do not want to take away from the contact you have with us, your coaches, as we are the truly personalised part of the coaching, but there is no reason we cannot meet halfway. Again, thank you for posting your comments and should you have more ideas, really, do not hesitate.

A c ouple of thoughts:

the lapses only really apply to the first stages of the diet. A piece of bread is a big deal early on but there is no listing for lapses from the latter stages, so I , like others I guess, just ignored them altogether after going into consolidated, where a slice of bread is OK - but three aren't. So, lapses could be geared to different stages

The daily messages don't seem to reflect the facts: today I was congratulated on stabilising weight loss, when I have gained several Kilos - so this breaks any sense of external scrutiny, it's just random

It would be a good idea to have readers' recipes - many of the official ones are v complicated, I used the principles to make much simpler, tasty dishes

The best thing is the weight curve. I suggest it would be good if someone noticed when it goes up too far/fast

Many thanks

Johanna

Hi there

I totally agree about having the ability to send an email 24 hours a day, even if they are still answered in the same time frame.  It seems many people starting the diet have this issue (not knowing when it’s open) and it would also help people overseas a lot.  It would help overcome a LOT of frustration!

The weight silhouette sounds like a great idea!  It would be very encouraging to most dieters, seeing your measurements in visual way (I looked at my inches loss yesterday and was amazed and encouraged, even though I'm stagnating at the moment.)

The latest response to a thread should definitely be at the top, not the bottom.  As the website develops, some of the threads are 30 pages long, a long way to scroll through.  Also when you scroll through the pages, you can only flick through one page at a time, not to the end which would make it much easier to navigate to if it stays the way it is.

Is it possible to send the person who posts on the forum an automatic email when there is a response - our emails are registered, and a lot of blogs work this way?

I've had some very confusing comments in my daily instructions, twice I've been told I should do 3 PP days, and this happened one time 2 days after I'd been told on my daily instructions to do 2 PP days!  I had to email the team to find out what I really should be doing.  It makes me question what I'm being told and creates a bit of a trust issue.  The daily instructions are very impersonal and sometimes quite irrelevant which is confusing.

Thanks for doing a great job, and listening to us!  Hope this helps.

Fiona

It would realy be more helpful and accurate if the allowed amount of oat bran and wheat bran are shown in grams, NOT tablespoons, which are not a standard size, Also is it a flat tablespoon, a rounded one or a heaped one? A gram wt would be much better .

Hi Seviemodo! - I am in the final stages of Consolidation and, have now 'signed up' for 6-months of Stabilisation.

The most frustrating part for me has been the 'repetitive-ness' of the Motivation Tips - so much so, I stopped reading them!

Even worse!  The 'Daily Report' is so 'geared' to the Attack and Cruise phases - that I now just 'automatically "tick boxes" regardless of situation'.

I am pleased to see you asking these questions - certainly, for the UK site, much improvement/development of site, is necessary.

That said, the Dukan Diet IS the best thing that I have discovered!  PLEASE!  Improve the web-site urgently - it is losing you 'customers'!

Regards, Carol.

Hello Everyone

As I read through the suggestions I see that what I'm going to say has been said before - no doubt it takes time to alter these things electronically. I am not frustrated by the food I can have or not have, or by the exercises - I love the Dukan program - I am frustrated however by the following

#The only frustration listed on my daily report is for foods I can't have - not what I'm really frustrated about - My frustration stems from stagnating in my weight loss

#When I'm frustrated I can't email anyone as I live 'down under' and the email facility is not available at those moments during the day when I am feeling frustrated! I'd rather have the email available 24 hours so I can send an email off when my frustration is present - I don't mind that it's not answered immediately - just that it is answered asap. (I do see that the email is open extra hours already - thanks - still need extra hours. I also am thankful for the faster answering of my emails)

#Because I answer the questions of my daily report honestly I can only say I'm experiencing frustration but not why. This just adds to my frustration!

#I too am sick of the daily generic computer generated motivation messages - at times they just make me laugh because they are so inappropriate - I'd llike the site to ask more questions that cover the whole me and how I'm feeling (rather than the only focus being on food frustration) - then a personalised daily motivation message would be more relevant

#I found it difficult to understand about the email facility being only available at certain times when I first joined and I hear this story over and over as I read the chats - is it not possible to inform newcomers that the email is not open 24 hours per day and that no matter what you do you can't open it out of hours? This of course could be solved by having the email open 24 hours!

#I love that I can ask a question for the chat before it opens however my questions seem to fall through a hole into the abyss below - Not acknowledged and not answered - is there a reason for this?

# With all the negatives above I need to balance them out by saying - I feel fantastic having lost 29 lbs. My skin is fantastic, my body is saying thank you as the lbs fall off. I'm enjoying exercisisng without puffing, my mind id clearer, BP has dropped, I'm getting lovely compliments and have enjoyed taking my big clothes to the op shop.

Hi everybody!

I just wanted to announce to you all that we have a new chat time on Wednesdays at 9am as I am sure you have noticed by now. This is thanks to a couple of you all telling me that you could not access the chat because the times were not at all convenient for you. Keep posting your suggestions, do not be shy (stay polite of course). If we did not want to know your opinion, we never would have asked. Again thank you for your answers, all of them will be reviewed as we want to ameliorate our services.

Hi Severine,

I have recently subscribed to coaching and have found this whole 'Dukan Diet' much more complicated and difficult to manage than I was prepared for.

I am fat because I had a poor diet for a long time, this means I have very rarely cooked and do not instinctively know how to prepare meals.

Neither have I ever spent so much time working out what I can and can't eat in supermarkets at lunchtime.

It would be great if I could click on a button for each phase when you are being coached. If I click Attack - it turns my whole apartment into an attack apartment, all the foods in the fridge and cupboard are only for attack. All the recipes are only attack etc.

I have a motto: If you fail to prepare you prepare to fail

Having had a better idea of what I was doing would help a very roller coaster 11 days so far of attack....as I haven't managed to put a complete 6 days together in a row without some failing, albeit fairly minor.

Also, the Dukan Diet app MUST be free to those of us that are coaching? Why not? Please ask Dr Dukan himself, this is ridiculous that we have to pay for it.

Thanks
Andrew

Hi Andrew,

First of all, i'm sure you have already heard this but DO NOT do more attack days then what was originally given to you; it will result in very long periods of stagnation and constipation. Had we felt your body would give you great weightloss results Andrew, Dr. Dukan would have add this to your program.

Second of all that is a great suggestion about the attack phase apartmentLaughing. I understand what you mean about cooking, I am french but have lived 11yrs in Amercia, so I do not have any ideas of what to cook, I do not have time to cook, nor do I know how to; but I have found some very simple recipes that take no time to be done and trust me, I mess up pasta, so if I can do this, there is no reason why you should not. The little bit of effort will be worth it in the end. When you go into your recipe book, do what I do, only look at the recipes that are easy and will take you 10min maximum to make.

I will get informed about the application just so you know.

Agree with many of the above comments.

Would also like to add that the motivation tips, particularly in Consolidation and Stabilisation phases are often contradictory.  Usually the first paragraph relates to your current phase but the second and maybe third are geared to those losing weight.  So you might get something like

"well done on maintaining your true weight, blah, blah"

"look in the mirror and imagine how your body will look when you have reached your true weight"

I especially agree with Andrew that the program should be smart enough so that in Attack, you only see in the fridge and cupboard the things that you are allowed to eat in Attack and as you move through the phases, the other foods are added in.

Also the menu plans should be better balanced.  I remember I had one day where if I had followed the suggested menus I would have eaten 5 eggs in one day!!

But otherwise I think the diet is fantastic, and whenever I have asked the team a question it has been answered well and promptly.  Keep up the good work Cool

this is the last diet I will ever do

Hi Margerydaw,

Do you mean in the recipes?

I think she means the daily oatbran allowance.

Tablespoons ARE a standard size (in UK anyway) as shops sell measuring spons that are all the same size and that includes tablespoons, I think she must be talking about dessert spoons as they DO vary.Wink
