I used the kitchen roll of oil but maybe it wasn't enough as it stuck to the pan and ended up in a big mush! It tasted nice though with some canderel. So - 2 questions please! Does anyone have a good recipe for the gallettes, and does anyone have a good porridge recipe too? Starting to get bored now and I always have my bran in yoghurt for brekkie so I need need to do something different. Thanks for reading me!

I use

2tbls oatbran...1tbls wheat bran...2tbls any allowed dairy 'cept the Philly, either 1 whole egg or 2 egg white depends on what allowance I have over at that time, quarter tsp baking powder. Mix well and dry fry. Use a medium heat only. Don't try to turn it over till the top is set or you'll have trouble.

AND I had to buy a new frying pan so it didn't stick.  So that may be where your problem lies. Hope this works for you

I've decided to do this in stages and this is the first one.    It's working but very slowly, and I'm not giving up till I ge there.Rigolant

I like mine with cardmaom and saffron but they are uaual things here not exotic.

Hello glamgyn

I baked mine in the oven for a while in a flan type dish. 180C for 10 minutes. I then discovered that it works perfectly in my snackwich machine (flat press). Quick and clean!

Hi glamglyn

Try making 3 or 4 small pancakes instead of 1 large one too - this also makes them easier to handle when it comes to the "flipping over" stage!Wink

I made the mixture fairly thick and used a little baking powder. I spooned  the mixture into 4 inch rounds onto a non stick baking sheet (you could use baking parchment on an ordinary baking sheet) and baked them in the oven at about 180 for 10 minutes.  I didn't turn them over. They have a nice lightly browned underneath surface and don't fall apart when you lift them

The porridge is delish. Just mix 2 Tbsp oatbran and add 200mls milk. Mix together while bringing to the boil. Stir well and let it bubble for a couple of minutes. If it seems too thick add some more milk. It should be able to pour from the pan but it sets if left for a minute. Add sweetener to taste. Cinnamon is also nice. Very filling and satisfying. Good luck.
