Hi, I was just reading through this and wondering if anyone had been as pleased as me with the changes the diet had made to my body and was a bit sad to see that there were no good news threads in this section so I thought I would start one. If anyone is reading this and wondering whether to give the diet a go I hope this helps to hear an example from a very, very happy customer. I have just started phase 3 of the diet so have reached my target weight and am just trying to retrain my metabolism to keep calm at this new weight so I stay here for the long term and I am so pleased with the improvements to my figure that came with the weight loss. I haven't seen any mention of it here but I used to be very sad about the cellulite that had built up on my thighs when I had put on weight over the last few years and I have seen results I never dreamed of! I guess it's flushing out all the fat stores that does it but it's almost as if I never suffered from cellulite at all so not only did my thighs, bottom, stomach and arms all shrink more than I hoped they might, they barely wobble. How cool is that?! I am not an exercise fan so I didn't think I would see any toning but by taking the recommended walks every day I have toned up without sweating in a scary gym. My husband was so impressed with the dramatic changes that he is now on the Dukan programme and doing brilliantly too. We find the evening walk gives us a good chance to catch up on our day the time flies by and by the time we sit down to dinner we have shed the stresses of the day. Some good news amongst the concerns anyway which I hope will help some fellow dieters or would be dieters looking for some motivation. I'd love to hear other happy tales and any tips on ways others have boosted the positive effects on their bodies. Posted by weightloss2010 on 21/11/2010 09:21:37

Hi weightloss 2010 Yes I agree with you-I think people should talk more about the benefits of the diet too! I have reached my true weight-with the odd wobble-but it has been remarkably straightforward and all wobbles have been my own fault.. This diet is truly wonderful and easier than others I have tried. I also agree about cellulite-I didn't have alot but it was horrible!! At the age of 55 with an underactive thyroid and the menopause I thought that smooth skin was a thing of the past but it has appeared as if by magic...good on you M Dukan!! hi both i think people do talk about the positives. there are a couple of threads that start as positives but also lots of threads that start negative and then turn positive either as the originator moves thruogh the diet or as other people come in and tell their own posiive stories. its nice to read through the whole journey but does mean the title you see in the forum might not tell the whole story of the full thread. I think as the forum really helps people with motivation and support you're just naturally going to find the vast majority of it is cries for help from people who are feeling a bit frustrated. also just human nature (sadly) to be less inclined to talk positive! the VIDs of the week are also, obviously, all really positive. Anyway, I agree with you both! so thanks for starting a new thread where everybody can join in & share positives! For me, I am loving seeing my body change shape as i do the diet. normally when i diet i find it really difficult to focus on/visualise the new thin me i'm going to become because of all the blubber still hangin around (!), but now, regardless of how much i've still got to go, its really exciting and motivating seeing it change and easy to concentrate on the changes themselves rather than the fact i'm still not where i want to be. everything about this "diet" is about a million times better, easier, more motivating, more rewarding, effective than anything else. the forum is brilliant, i'm never hungry, i'm never tempted to cheat, its not hard to follow, and its working. brilliant! also looking forward to the miraculous disappearance of cellulite you both talk about as well, that really would be nice and help the bikini plight somewhat! (although now you mention it i have noticed it has reduced already if not gone compeletely!) so here's to more positive stories!

hi, i also found the effects of the diet wonderful on my body :-) i love looking at my body on the mirror and see the changes. i also enjoy feeling the disappearance of the fat when i apply my body lotion :-) old trousers don't fit any more and that's wonderful too and a friend of mine who also does the diet with me but isn't registers couldn't believe how wide it fitted me and how many inches i had lost! she said i inspired her to get back on track after a few lapses :-) so far, i have lost 4.7 inches at the waist, 8.1 inches at the hips and 3.3 at the thighs. my fingers look longer and the bone at my wrist looks thinner too. my boobs fit well in the bra, which is nice too. how amazing it was a fortnight ago when i bought clothes size 8 or small for tops and a lovely curvy track suit :-) i cannot wait to buy more slim and tight-fitting clothes for xmas and the new-year :-) some people say they've lost half a shoe size, has that happened to anyone? i am looking forward to my cellulite disappearing too girls :-) anyother great body effects people have noticed? let's keep sharing, it's so motivating :-) Posted by smiley58 on 22/11/2010 18:41:35

What I notice most of all, apart from all the usuall ones, like clothes fitting and even slipping off my hips, is my face. When washing my face it feels really bony (in comparison to what it was, that is) and when I touch it in bed or something, I forget and then I think to myself "Wow, I really have lost a lot". What a great diet. Mary Posted by mothermary on 23/11/2010 04:20:00

yes, thats so true about the face! thats almost the first place my weight loss shows, then my upper body down to waist slims up, thighs are very stubborn! Smiley I cant believe how many inches you've lost that's amazing! i think i'm about 2 down from top half but gave up measuring my thighs as could never remember how i did it the day before! also still in same dress size as when i started but they fit better and more comfortably and some stuff i was wearing now falls off and other stuff i'd not been able to wear for ages is making another appearance! But all same size. i'm a 16, with some clothes are 18 which are now too big and at once stage a few years back i was wearing size 20 sometimes. it would be SO amazing to buy a size 14! i'm not buying any new clothes untnil i can fit in a 14! I am so excited with this diet. I am about to boast some great measurements. I have lost over 10kg since August and have less than 1kg to go. I have also been measured at the gym in that time and have lost 3.5cm off each arm, 12.5cm off Bust, 17cm off waist, 11cm off hips and 10.5 off each thigh. I am so stoked!! Things that were so tight on me before are now slipping down and even though it annoys me it makes me remember how my body has changed. And I feel sooooo much better. Blood pressure down, cholesterol down. Whether I am down to my true weight by the end of November, I will change over to Consolidation as I am happy with my weight now and want to have a couple of weeks in the new phase to get used to it all, before I go on 3 weeks holiday mid-December. I love this diet. Well, most days. Some PP days I long for the vegies, and the smell of someone cooking toast drives me batty! I tried making the Dukan bread, but it did not turn out very well. Maybe it was not the recipe but me who did something wrong. Has anyone else made this bread. I know the bread thing will not be for long. I keep telling myself that if I want to switch over to Consolidation then I can do it, but why not wait another one day, and so it goes on day after day. I love the Dukan team, they are so helpful and seem to understand the frustrations. I have not had one lapse with their help and I think that is what helps me going - I have gone this far without one so I am not going to spoil it now. But sometimes I get very close to it. Mary R. i'm hesitant to make this post as i dont want to ruin the positive thread but has anybody been into Next (in UK) recently? have they changed their sizing or what!? i#ve been wearing a size 16 from next for ages and now they're all too big so went in to buy some new jeans today (was sick of the ones i had on falling off and looking ridiculous despite declaring i wasnt going to shop until i was a size 14!) and none of the size 16s would get up past my thighs! when you're trying to feel all good about yourself this was not helpful! i complained. then spent about 2 hours traisping round trying to find some elsehwere that would fit. succeeded but wondered if i should just have worn baggy falling off trousers all day instead! think i've got another 7lbs or so to go before i will really see the proper difference as at the moment i'm still not down as far as I have been on other diets so once i get beyond that it will be really very exciting! so, sorry for moaning, just had to share that! PS, cooking toast does the same to me! havent cheated though, sniff it all up and feel self righteous! Posted by lulubunny on 24/11/2010 16:04:07

Mary R. well done mothermary :-) your story is very inspiring to me. i can't wait to lose even more weight and centimeters as i have now lost 12 round the waist, 20.5 round the hips and 8.5 from my hips as mentioned before but in inches. i feel the same about some trousers falling off but some are not loose enough for me yet so i'm looking forward to that :-) i'm as proud as you for not having lapse at all so far and do not intend to either. what an achievement ;-) have been meaning to try to make the dukan break but haven't got round to doing it yet! i hope you lose your last kilo soon :-) Posted by smiley58 on 24/11/2010 20:53:27

Hi I am in day two of the Attack Phase and have been mooching around the forum for inspiration rather than support and was so delighted to see this trail. Fantastic news about the cellulite, I so hope it's me in a few months time saying similar things! Thanks for all the good news info and to the lady who is frustrated with Next, a very stylish friend once advised me wear the size you like the look of and forget the number. She was a solid size 10 and would sometimes even buy a size 18 to get the look she wanted - keep the faith and just think maybe they changed their jeans supplier or their fit model! Ive just splashed out scary amounts of cash in the sales buying SIZE 10 clothes I am as pleased as punch with myself and the diet. I can't afford to put any weight back on now. I can't ever remember being a SIZE 10 before my wardrobe goes from a size 18 to size 12 and noe I have just added size 10!!!!!!. I feel I can stick with this diet forever I am now in stablisation after have lost 2 stone since 20th July. I feel great and very proud of myself. Tinker32

That is just the most amazing achievement Tinker - and so so so encouraging for all of us, especially at this time of year. I bet you have to keep pinching yourself - not that it sounds like there is much left there to pinch. All the support you have given to everyone else this year has been rewarded with your own fantastic result - I will come back and read your "SALES-MAIL" when I am next labouring through a stagnation phase. A very happy and very well deserved Size 10 start to 2011 to you. D

A Dukanista Fairy Tale - for those with the Cruisin Blues in the stagnation zone....... 25 years ago a little girl without a care in the world bought the bestest pair of jeans ever. She loved those jeans like they were family and wore them year in year out. They ripped at the knee through wear and tear but the little girl didn't care she loved them even more for their lived in look. Then, ever so - ever so - slowly the Wicked Witch of the Fridge cast a horrid "munching" spell on the little girl. The spell made the little girl munch and crunch - breakfast brunch lunch just munch and munch. The little girl grew and grew and the bestest ever jeans "shrunk" and "shrunk" till the little girl could wear them no longer. Unable to wear the bestest jeans in the world the little girl could bare to look at them no longer. Not having the heart to throw them away, the little girl locked them away in a trunk and hid it far far away at the back of the wardrobe. The little girl - now not so little - was trapped under the spell of the Wicked Witch of the Fridge and carried on munch and crunch brunch and lunch. Until one day The Magic Fairy Dukanista sprinkled "can do" dust on her. The Magic Fairy Dukanista gave the little girl some tools to break them munching spell - a book and a coaching website and introduced her to other little girls and boys who had also been under the spell of the Munching Spell of the Wicked Witch of the Fridge who knew how she felt and were happy to share and prop her up through the trips and traps and the odd Munching Spell lapse. The little girl was doing so well but then The Wicked Witch fought back and sent another spell - The Stagnation Spell - a hideaous hideous spell that put the little girl into a stagnation state where the weight just stayed and stayed - even though the little girl had been trying so very very hard. The little girl was very sad and felt the Wicked Witch of the Fridge beckoning her back, but the other little Dulanista boys and girls helped her hold fast and beat the Wicked Witch until one day, she heard the bestest 25 year old jeans, locked far far away in the trunk at the back of the wardrobe calling her - begging her to be re-united and dare try them on again. The little girl was scared but breathed in deep and bravely took out the jeans and pulled them on slowly - first the left leg and then the right and then woohoo the little girl yelped with glee - my little jeans and me she said back together for every. The little girl was very very happy then the Magic Fairy Dulanista waved her wand once more and made it Friday Dress Down Day at the little girls office so the little girl could proudly wear the bestest jeans in the world all the day long. Ladies and gentlemen I know this story to be true because you see the little girl is me AND I JUST CAME IN FROM WORK WEARING MY 25 YEAR OLD BESTEST JEANS IN THE WORLD. That last little hideous stagnation was really tough but thanks to all the positive posts helping me through woohoo Game Back on - last few pounds of the cruise blues still to go - bring it on. Morning....I just loved waking up to all your wonderful stories this morning and also wanted to share my joy with all of you! 22 lbs shed since October 4th and another 10 lbs to go, I am seriously motivated despite a wee lapse over Christmas which I have corrected this week with 3 days of Attack. What I cannot believe is how I am back to it so easily - I would normally crumble after a lapse, but oh know, I just accepted that I would struggle not to gain a few pounds over Christmas as I was staying with family in States and life is just too short not to have a drink here and there! I was prepared to face the truth of my actions and deal with it! I never actually ate any PURE CARBS like bread or potatoes though! What REALLY struck me was that the way I was able to shift my gain in just 3 days means that in the future, once I am onto the last phase of the diet and doing my one day a week for the rest of time, I WILL BE ABLE TO REMAIN SLIM FOREVER!!!! And I almost feel like someone has given me a KEY or a "SOLUTION" for a lifetime! I also measure myself just before Christmas I have lost 10cms off my waist and each thigh and I TOO am thrilled. My family in the States couldnt believe it....they just kept saying, you look so AMAZING! I feel amazing..... So well done to all of us... Have a great day x Posted by melbell1 on 08/01/2011 11:14:19

hi everybody, thought I'd come and have a look how this thread was doing, its one of my favourites! I also wanted to share since my last posts, that I am now well and truly, no question a definitel size 14! i go into every shop i pass (erm, except Next!) just to check, and its true. I pick things up and think, "oh dear, that wont fit me its tiny, this must be one of those small size shops", but then it does fit me, and look lovely! last time i went shopping with my mum and said this out loud, and she said "yes, it IS tiny, but so are you now"! I am steadily throwing away ALL my old clothes, absolutely nothing fits me not even my underwear, i cant believe how massive it all looks, I have literally just shrunk. i cant see it so much just looking in the mirror as i'm getting used to it but seeing my old clothes really makes it hit home! i now own little shorts, mini skirts, tight dresses and have thrown away all my big baggy smock tops & shapeless maxi dresses. still got just over half a stone to go as well...hope all my nice new stuff still fits by the end of it, getting expensive! be good to hear any updates/new stories from anybody else too! Well done everybody and keep going!

Hi Lulubunny Well done you!!! Its a great feeling isn't it? I too am having a great time finding size 10 clothes even had to buy smaller bra's. I have just joined a country club to go into the pool - I haven't been on the pool for years and have had to order new swimming costumes as the one I held on too is far to big. Being disabled excercise is very difficult for me but I now feelthe confidence to try getting on the pool again. I have been in stabilisation since christmas day and apart from putting on 1 pound one day and taking it off the next by weight is basically remaining at 9st my true weight was 9st 7lbs, the last 7lbs just feel off. I feel fantastic and very positive that this is me for life, weight wise at least. Tinker32
