Hi all, I just tried Shirataki noodles for the first time - I'd read on here about draining them thoroughly and the strange consistency they have - but I've just made a lovely dinner with them - it took me 3 mins! - rinse noodles in sieve - put noodles into basin and cover with just boiled water from kettle - put frying pan on high heat - once pan is really hot, drizzle oil in (1tsp) - drain noodles and 'throw' them around the hot pan - add low salt soy sauce - add spice(s) - I used cayenne pepper and 5 spice (chinese spices) - add about 1tbsp of tomato puree (not sauce, as puree is thicker and sugar free) - keep moving noodles around the pan until any moisture has evaporated and the added ingredients have 'sunk' into the noodles - serve and enjoy! I have mine with a tin of Princes mackerel in curry sauce :o) mmmmmmm it was so nice! Sally B Posted by sallyb81 on 27/06/2012 20:47:11

Sounds delicious. Where can I get the noodles from though? I have searched the local supermarket and I really don't want to be buying food online. I'm in Australia if that helps with anyone with an answer.

Shiratake Noodles are the BEST! I can only find them online. Miracle noodle do fettucci, rice and the noodles. My fave so far are "Bare Naked Noodles" Protein Noodles. They've put extra protein in them. Sally is right about just rinsing them in hot water, some packs say to boil for a minute, but they come out strange from that.

Posted by claireokeeffe on 10/07/2012 12:14:27
